Mario Núñez
(Mexico City, 1963).
He studied at the National School of Plastic Arts of the UNAM 1981-83 (Mexico City) and at the CIEP Graphic Experimentation Workshop of INBA 1982-84 (Mexico City). (2006); "Pinturas", Mexican Cultural Institute, San Antonio, Texas, USA (1998); Sincronías , Oscar Roman Gallery, Mexico City, (1998)"Pinturas", Iturralde Gallery, Los Angeles, USA (1997), Contraluz, Carrillo Gil Museum, Mexico City (1992) among others.
He has participated in numerous collective exhibitions, in different museums and cultural centers, such as: Museum of Modern Art, Carrillo Gil Museum, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Chopo University Museum, Mexico City; galleries in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Mexico. He also participated with the Le Laboratoire Gallery in the Hot Art Basel art fairs (2010); Scope Miami Beach (2013); ZONA MACO (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020). In 1988 he received the award of acquisition of the National Exhibition of Plastic Arts, Painting Section, Auditorium Gallery, Mexico DF, The Youth Stimulus Award, CREA, Carrillo Gil Museum, Mexico City, in 1992 the First Place of the NATIONAL Painting Competition INDART, Mexico City, in 1992-93 the scholarship for young creators, FONCA, CONACULTA, in 1998 the Ex Aequo Mention of the Villa de Madrid Awards, Madrid, Spain, has been a member of the National System of Creators, FONCA , CONACULTA, 2001-2007,2010-2013 and 2014-2016 and 2017-2020.
