• Due to unpredictable traffic conditions in Mexico City, we ask that guests maintain some flexibility with the given schedules. Transport time may vary up to +/- 20 minutes.

• Exclusive 10% discount on art purchases (USD4000 or more) for Open Studio Art Experience guests.

• We understand that unexpected situations arise during travel.

• Cancellation with more than 24 hours’ notice of scheduled Open Studio Art Experience: refund of the total amount paid, less 10% for administrative expenses, or the option to reschedule the Experience at no additional cost.

• Cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice of scheduled Open Studio Art Experience: refund of 50% of the amount paid or option to reschedule the Open Studio Art Experience at no additional cost.

• Cancellation by Vaiven: refund of 100% of the amount paid.

• Cancellation due to covid: refund of 50% of the amount paid or rescheduling of the experience at no additional cost.

• For reasons of force majeure: refund of 100% of the amount paid. Force majeure is defined as the following:

o We use the term “event” to refer to the following situations that occur after the reservation has been made, which are unknown at the time of reservation, and legally prevent or prohibit the completion of the reservation.

o Changes in a government's requirements for travel. Unexpected changes in visa and passport requirements imposed by a government agency that prevent travel to the destination. This does not include lost or expired documents or other personal circumstances related to a guest's travel authorization.

o Declared emergencies and epidemics. Government-declared local or national emergencies, epidemics, pandemics, and public health emergencies. Accidents or diseases that are endemic or commonly associated with a given area, such as gastrointestinal illnesses, fever or flu in Mexico City, are not included.

o Government travel restrictions. Travel restrictions imposed by a government agency that prevent or prohibit travel to, lodging in, or return from the location. This does not include non-mandatory travel advisories or similar government advice.

o Military actions and other armed conflicts. Acts of war, armed clashes, invasions, civil war, terrorism, explosions, bombings, rebellions, riots, demonstrations, insurrection, civil disorder and civil unrest.

o Natural disasters. Natural disasters, acts of God, large-scale interruptions of essential public services, volcanic eruptions, tremors, and other severe and abnormal weather events. This does not include weather or natural conditions that are typical and expected in a given area; for example, the storms during Rainy Season or the annual environmental contingency in the first months of the year, in Mexico City.

• The client sends an email or a WhatsApp to the assigned host, requesting the cancellation.

• The client will receive a form, which must be completed with the information requested for the reimbursement amount, as outlined above.

• Vaivén will request the corresponding refund from Paypal or Stripe.

• The actual time to credit your account will depend on the specific policies and procedures of Stripe and Paypal.

• The guest sends an email or WhatsApp to the assigned host, at least 24 hours before the experience, requesting the change of date.

• The Host checks if the artists are available on the new date. If they are, guest receives a confirmation email with the new date.

• If the artists are not available, the Host sends the guests a recommendation of new artists. If guests agree, they receive a confirmation email with the new date.

• If guests are not interested in any of the available artists, they can ask for a refund, according to the cancellation policy and procedure.

• We follow all official health mandates of the Mexico City authorities, including recommended use of facemasks in closed public spaces.
